June 9 - 13, 2025, two experts from Guizhou Normal University—Professor Li Qiuhua of the Guizhou Provincial Key Laboratory of Information and Computing Sciences and Researcher Xiao Jing of the Guizhou Provincial Key Laboratory of Mountainous Environment—visited Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov, Belarusian State University, and Belarusian State Agricultural Academy for academic collaboration.
The purpose of this visit was to explore possibilities for research cooperation with partner institutions in Belarus, particularly focusing on jointly applying for national research projects in ecological and natural resources with Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov. On June 12, the two experts visited VSU, where they held discussions with Vice-Rector Andrey Mekhovich, Vice-Rector for Research Evgeny Arshansky, Head of the Research Department Irina Krasovskaya, as well as faculty leaders and professors from the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology, and Geography.
During the meeting, Andrey Mekhovich noted that China and Belarus share a long history of exchanges and have carried out fruitful cooperation across multiple fields, especially in science, education, and culture—key bridges connecting the two nations. He emphasized that the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology, and Geography at VSU hosts many renowned scientists dedicated to lifelong research, and he expressed confidence that this project collaboration would significantly advance both institutions’ development in specialized disciplines. Li Qiuhua conveyed his strong anticipation for working with experts from VSU. He suggested that beyond advancing joint projects, the two sides could deepen ties through expanded faculty and student exchanges. Following the talks, the experts toured the university’s laboratories and infrastructure and conducted a field survey of nearby water bodies.
