History at a Glance

• 1941   Founded as National Teacher' College in Guiying, one of the eight National Teachers' Colleges in China.

• 1950  Renamed as Guiyang Teachers' College.

• 1985   Entitled as Guizhou Normal University.

• 1986   Approved to grant master’s degree by the State Council Academic Degree Committee.

• 1996   Honored as a provincial key university by People’s Government of Guizhou Province.

• 2004   Merged with Guizhou Vocational College of Technology.

• 2013   Approved to grant doctor’s degree by the State Council Academic Degree Committee.

• 2015   Honored as a high-level university co-constructed by Ministry of Education of P.R.China and the People’s Government of Guizhou Province.

• 2017  Selected as one of the First State-level Demonstration Universities for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform.
