On September 20^th, 2017, Deputy Director General, Somnuck Kousonsavath, Director Head, Thipphasong Khamsoukthavong, and Technical Staff, Sonesouda Kanthaphoum from Ministry of Education and Sport, Laos visited Guizhou Normal University (GZNU). Hosted by director of Office International Exchange and Cooperation, Pei Jun, Vice President Yi Yin had a meeting with the delegation on Huaxi Campus, Dean of School of International Education, Jiang Shan and some international student representatives from Laos attending.

During the meeting, Yi Yin welcomed the guests and made a brief introduction to GZNU. Somnuck Kousonsavath expressed his gratitude for the enthusiastic reception from GZNU and manifested the main purpose of the visit: to acquaint with the implementation of “Guizhou-Laos Scholarship”, the life and study of international students from Laos in GZNU. After profiling the development of international student education and implementation of scholarship, Jiang Shan gave a good appraisal to the academic and daily performance of international students from Laos in GZNU. In addition, both sides exchanged viewpoints on how to promote cooperation in field of education between Guizhou and Laos. Somnuck Kousonsavath declared that he has been visualizing that Laos will definitely have a bright future along with more and more students from Laos studying in Guizhou. Pei Jun also mentioned, with the help of Ministry of Education and Sport, Laos, GZNU is willing to establish cooperation with universities from Laos so as to explore channels of exchange and cooperation between both sides. After the meeting, guests’ impression on GZNU running school has been deepened by visiting Student Affair Center and University Library.
