Data science and big data technology program (science and engineering, 4 years of schooling, B.S.). On September 8, 2017, with the approval of Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, the School of Big Data and Computer Science, Guizhou Normal University and the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT), India signed an agreement to jointly build a special professional cooperation agreement on "Data Science and Big Data Technology" to create a mode of instruction featured by "university- enterprise cooperation & internationalized instruction".
The characteristics of the program running are mainly reflected in the following four aspects:
University-enterprise joint training: Aiming to cultivate application-oriented talents that will meet the needs of enterprises, enterprises directly participate in the whole process of talent training in universities, and half of the professional courses will be instructed by executives and professional teachers from NIIT.
Bilingual instruction: Half of the courses in the student course training program adopt the teaching mode of bilingual instruction, and partial courses instructed by NIIT adopt bilingual teaching, with foreign teachers as the main lecturer.
Highlight engineering practice: Seniors students will take a whole year’s intensive internship at the internship base of Guizhou Branch, NIIT.
International Verification: The program of "Data Science and Big Data Technology" integrates academic education and technical verification. Students who meet the requirements of the program and pass the verification examination can obtain the undergraduate diploma, bachelor's degree certificate of GZNU and NIIT software engineer (DNIIT) international verification.
The program cultivates the all-round development talents who meet the needs of national economic and social development, has solid theoretical basic knowledge, methods and skills in the field of data science and big data technology, has good learning ability, innovation ability, organization and coordination ability, team spirit and international vision, and is competent for big data collection, storage, management and processing, analysis, exploration, presentation, application, and have the ability to become high-quality applied engineering and technical talents such as technical backbone and project management backbone in engineering projects.
